2001 SERIOLA DUMERILI, The world's first success
Creater Yellow Tail (Seriola Dumerili) has a Japanese name of "Ka ko pa chi" is mainly produced in north Vietnam and Hainan Island. Between December and February of the next year,2 cm fries appear in coastal area of Sanya ,Hainan with annual production of 20 million tails.
Greater Yellow Tail has an annual sales of 15 million tails grownup fish of 3-4 Taiwanese Catty in Japan. This is one of the favorite species for sashimi of Japan. The market is very large. Wild fires are caught by fisherman of Hainan, China and supply to Hong Kong Company between December and February the next year. The fries are then cultivated locally to 12 to 15 cm and Japanese sea produce company take over and ship back to Japan for further cultivation. But they are reluctant to accept the fries after May. Recently, through conversation and discussion with Japanese, we were given to know that they like the best Greater Yellow Tail nurtured in October. After intensive research for two years,
we have been successful to advance the wild catch fries 40 days in 2001 and we are ready to mass produce. Taiwan has again demonstrated to the world that the aquatic technique is truly first class in the world. We will maintain our endeavoring in developing newer specles.
